A place where the war
Ravaged through to try and
Run
Arras and where people
Strongly fought for their country.

Where they rested underground.

All the food is bully-beef and hard tack.

It’s not the best food they have eaten but at least they ate some food.

Having masks to protect from acid.

I’ve respected their sacrifice by wearing poppies on my shirt.

Men dig under ground

In sweat and exhaustion

Narrow spaces they squeeze

Exhaustion froze their eyes working 

Really hard and

Searching for a way to freedom.
